I've always been into art - painting, watercolor, drawing, printmaking. It mainly started at the beginning of high school, I ended up taking art class 4 years in a row (which is very rare where I went to high school). Painting slowly became a passion of mine; I kept journals and more journals so I can whip one out when I have some kind of inspiration. What amazing me is how artists transform their artwork into fashionable clothing. One example is Lilly Pulitzer, she paints her original design on a canvas and then it becomes this beautiful clothing line. In my artwork I enjoy adding a little bit of "flare" to my pieces,
Designers use this originality to market their products so that consumers will be more appealed to it. In today's world everyone wants something unique to look at or to own, and that is what Lilly Pulitzer is going for.

I like that painting! It looks like it could be a great print on a dress as well. I used to paint a lot before I got into college and still do from time to time. Even if you don't pursue a career that utilizes it don't ever quit! It's such a great stress buster and creating something to leave behind when we're gone is always so fulfilling!

I never knew that Lily Pulitzer drew her prints on canvas before making them into clothes or planners. That is really neat! I think your painting is amazing too! It would definitely make a really cute summer dress. It's great that you are so artistic and I think if you ever started your own line of clothing you would definitely be a success.
